Sketching and drawing underpins everything I do.
I find this the most exciting medium and whether I am out in the fields trying to sketch a fleeting moment in time, or have five minutes to capture a models balletic pose.
My etchings all stem from my drawings, and I love the opportunity to develop an initial quick sketch in to a more in depth and rich work. If I need more energy, inspiration or a fresh approach its always the pastels or pencils I reach for. Anything can grab my attention, a simple pine cone, a Degas inspired, life drawing, or corners of interesting places I have visited all fill my sketchpads.
